DOROHEDORO SEASON 2 RELEASE

Even though the first season of Dorohedoro was a huge success not only in Japan but internationally as well, Netflix is still yet to renew the series for a second series. No official statement has been made by Netflix regarding renewal, production or airing of season 2. But people are speculating that the 2nd season will be out sometime near fall 2024. Considering that Studio MAPPA is working on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and many other projects, it will be very unlikely to see Dorohedoro returning this year, atleast not until Jujutsu Kaisen is finished airing in 2023.

The first season of the series ended around chapter 40 of the manga, since the manga has around a total of 167 chapters, there’s more than enough material for a second season.

DOROHEDORO SEASON 2 TRAILER

As the second season is not renewed by Netflix yet, there is no official trailer for the new season. Since the renewal has not even been announced, this means that the production of the series probably hasn’t started as well. But seeing the popularity of the first season, Dorohedoro is a very likely candidate for a second season.

DOROHEDORO PLOT

The story takes place in a gloomy city known as “The Hole”, where multiple experiments using black art are being done. A clan of sorcerers who are behind all these experiments, uses people as pigs to carry on their research. Caiman the main character of the story, who’s a man with a reptile head is found by Nikaido in a dark alley. Caiman has a bad case of amnesia as he can’t remember anything about his life before he was turned into a lizard head by a sorcerer. To undo the spell casted upon him, Caiman and Nikaido hunt and kill multiple sorcerers in the hopes of finding and killing the right one. As the story goes on it turns out that Caiman is somehow immune to the magical attacks of the sorcerers, making him an extremely dangerous enemy.

En, a powerful sorcerer and the head of “The En Family”, hears about Caiman and his immunity to magic and sends some “Cleaners” to kill Caiman. As the fight between the two worlds takes place, a lot of mysterious secrets about Caiman’s identity begin to unravel.
